Unmind Talk offers talking therapies and coaching on a 1-2-1 basis with trained and licensed practitioners. We do not provide medication and we do not diagnose.
Therapy
Therapy offers a space where you can address concerns your your mental or emotional health such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and clinical disorders.
Depending on the issues and approach, therapy can stay in the here and now and offer strategies that you can learn to apply to your everyday life where you can see change. For others, their therapy sessions will see them look back at their past experiences so they can better understand patterns in relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of how these experiences impact their present.
A common misconception is that therapy is only for people with ‘severe mental health issues’ or people with problems. In reality, it can be preventative, explorative and open to anyone with an interest in themselves, who they are, and personal growth. For some, it will be the first time that they have had an opportunity to talk about feelings or their life experiences and this may be frightening. The important thing to remember is that no therapist will push you to do or say something that you are not ready for and will aim to work at your pace.
We offer a range of therapy approaches including CBT, counseling and psychotherapy.
Coaching
Coaching is a collaborative approach where you and your practitioner will work together in supporting you in:
- Professional Development: those seeking guidance in their professional lives, such as career transitions, leadership development or workplace challenges.
- Goal Setting and Achievement: Individuals looking to set and achieve specific goals, whether in their personal or professional lives, can find coaching to be a valuable resource.
- Skill Enhancement: Coaching can help individuals enhance specific skills, such as communication, parenting, time management or leadership, contributing to overall personal and professional growth in the individual's present and future. It places an emphasis on the individual's goals, thought processes and actions.
Coaching generally remains in the here and now and can be goal oriented.
In a coaching session, you have the liberty to discuss anything you are comfortable sharing. There is no pressure to tell your coach anything that you are not comfortable disclosing.
At Unmind, we have coaches who can support you in a range of areas, including relationship difficulties, work/life balance, life transitions, parenting, career, self-esteem, health, and many more.
Coaches will use a variety of techniques to motivate you, provide clarity and help you develop a deeper sense of self-awareness.
